Artist Statement

How do we internalize our deepest feelings, pain, love, death and fear: how does life imprint upon us and transform us from the inside out? The work I create explores these kinds of transfigurations and joins figures and forms in metamorphoses that reveal a relationship between biology and emotion.

This work is a display of internal vulnerability. The impact of emotions on the figure, a kind of self-portrait, transforms it into something new. Its honesty lies with the poetics of intertwining organic non-description and intrinsic emotions. I am attempting to discover and correlate patterns of growth in nature with the internal emotional growth occurring within myself.
